嫌な天気だ。 What unpleasant weather.

　ルソン島の西側にある熱帯性低気圧の影響で朝から強めの西風が吹いていた。

風が強くなると雨が降り出し弱い台風のような状況になった。

雨が吹き込むので西側の窓を閉めた。

雷が鳴り稲妻が走った。

その間に５秒間の停電があった。

今は風も雨も止んでいるが空は暗い。

嫌な天気だ。

 Strong westerly winds had been blowing since the morning, due to the influence of a tropical depression to the west of Luzon.

As the wind grew stronger, rain began to fall, and conditions became similar to those of a weak typhoon.

I closed the windows facing the west as the rain was blowing in.

There was thunder and lightning.

There was a five-second power outage in between.

The wind and rain have now stopped, but the sky is dark.

What unpleasant weather.

OSが違うので更新に気を付けている。 Since the OS is different, I have to be careful about updates.

　OSの違うPCを使っています。

Windows10/11とAndoroidoとChromebookです。

Windowsの重要な更新があるたびに他のOSも電源チェックを兼ねてアップデートを確認しています。

それと同時にPCに保管しているデータを1TのHD２台にコピーしています。

従前は日本で買ったHDを使っていましたがWD社のHDがこちらで買えるようになり便利になりました。

保存するデータの中で趣味の水中のROW画像はデータは大きいんです。

良質なROW画像以外は捨てています。

AndoroidoとChromebookにはまだROW画像の現像のアプリはありません。

暫くは高度なアプリはWindowsで平易な作業はAndoroidoとChromebookという形で処理してゆきます。

 I use PCs with different OSes.

Windows 10/11, Android, and Chromebook.

Whenever there is an important Windows update, I check the power supply and check for updates for the other OS as well.

At the same time, I copy the data stored on my PC to two 1TB hard drives.

I used hard drives bought in Japan before, but it's become more convenient as WD hard drives are available here.

Of the data I store, underwater ROW images, which are my hobby, are large.

I discard all but the best quality ROW images.

There are no apps for Android and Chromebook that can develop ROW images yet.

For the time being, I will use Windows for advanced apps and Android and Chromebook for simple tasks.

停電と断水の置き土産。 Souvenirs from power outages and water shortages.

　以前にボホール島を台風が横断して被害が大きく停電が長く続きました。

そして水道局の給水ポンプが動かず断水が長く続きました。

私の住まいは台風の強風豪雨時に窓のアルミサッシュから室内に水が入り掃除が大変でした。

　こちらでは普段ビーチサンダルを履いて生活しています。

足が蒸れることはありません。

足が洗えなかったせいなのか断水中に水虫が再発しました。

水虫菌・白癬菌は死なずに再発出来るときを待っていたようです。

　水虫の痒さはそうでもないんですが皮がむけたりぶつぶつが出来たりするのが嫌で薬を塗っています。

この水虫は強いというかしつこいというかなかなか退散してくれません。

台風の置き土産の措置に困っています。

 A typhoon previously crossed Bohol Island, causing extensive damage and long-lasting power outages.

The water department's water pumps also failed to function, resulting in prolonged water outages.

When the typhoon caused strong winds and heavy rains, water would get into my house through the aluminum window sashes, making cleaning a lot of work.

 I usually wear beach sandals here.

My feet don't get sweaty.

Maybe because I couldn't wash my feet, my athlete's foot recurred during the water outage.

The athlete's foot fungus and tinea fungus didn't die and were waiting for the right time to recur.

 The athlete's foot isn't that itchy, but I hate the peeling skin and bumps that form, so I apply medicine.

This athlete's foot is strong, or rather persistent, and doesn't go away easily.

I'm not sure what to do about the souvenirs left behind by the typhoon.

シャワーヘッド 。 The shower head.

　白いシャワーヘッドは水の勢いが強すぎて顔の石鹸をすすいでいると水が閉じた目や耳の奥に入った。

大きくて水の流れる穴の多いシャワーヘッドに交換した。

新しいシャワーヘッドはシャワーの水を吐き出す穴の数が多いせいで水の流れが多くなり水勢が少し優しくなった。

シャワーヘッドの首の角度もちょうどいい。

これとは長い付き合いが出来そうだ。

　こちらの販売店の特徴は品物の種類が良く変わることと取り寄せが出来ないことだ。

シャワーヘッドは壊れやすい生活用品ではないが予備を買い置きすることにした。

 The white shower head had such a strong water pressure that when I was rinsing soap off my face, water got into my closed eyes and the back of my ears.

I replaced it with a larger shower head with more holes through which water can flow.

The new shower head has more outlets, so the water comes out better and with gentler pressure.

The angle of the shower head neck is also just right.

I think I'll be using this one for a long time.

 A distinctive feature of specialty stores in this country is that the types of products change often and cannot be ordered.

Shower heads are not everyday items that are likely to break, but I decided to buy a spare to keep on hand.
