それでもその人は歌を歌い続けています。

　その人の隣の家に赤ちゃんがいないのでしょうか。

まわりで勉強している生徒・学生はいないのでしょうか。

まわりに病気で寝ている人はいないのでしょうか。

静かに過ごしたい人がいることに気が付かないのでしょうか。

あなたのカラオケと歌を聞きたくない人がいることに配慮できないのでしょうか。

あなたは聞きたくない音楽が大きな音量で流れてきた時にあなたはどう思うのでしょうか。

あなたはカラオケを持っていることをまわりに知らせたいのですか。

　カラオケで大音量で歌い続けているあなたは物事に配慮できない浅慮な人というレッテルを貼られてしまいます。

また、あなたを社会的な常識のない人間とみる人もいるでしょう。

どうかこの事であなたを称賛する人がいないことに気がついて下さい。

　あなたは”汝の隣人を愛さなければいけない”事を教会と父母から教わっています。

Do you want to let everyone know you own a karaoke machine?

 If you keep singing loudly at karaoke, people will think you are thoughtless and inconsiderate.

Also, some people might think you don't have good social skills.

Please understand that nobody will compliment you for this.

How do your actions align with the teachings of this religion?
Religion is based on the premise that public order and morality are upheld.

禁酒８ヶ月。 I've been sober for eight months.

一時炭酸水を飲んでいました。

今は冷たい麦茶が美味しくてたまりません。

果物がおいしいですね、朝から食べています。

　夜は９時には寝ています。

昼寝をしても暗くなると眠たくなります。

お腹がへって食べ物がおいしいですね、食べる量も増えました。

デッドストックは規則正しく良い状態です。

肌がよくなりカミソリまけをしなくなりました。

体重は６０ｋｇです、食べても太れません。

頭は６ヶ月を過ぎたあたりでスッキリしました。

長い間モヤッとが常態化していたのがその時にわかりました。

　今はコレステロールを落とす薬を飲んでいます。

バター・チーズ・ヨーグルトは食べていません。

豚肉は赤身を食べ野菜をラードで炒めるのをやめました。

飽和脂肪酸を摂るのを減らしました。

　あと２週間ほどで血液検査です。

不整脈は治ったのでコレステロール値が下がればダイビング復帰です。

カメラとレンズは密閉した容器に入れて乾燥剤を入れ替えています。

 It's been eight months since I quit drinking.

I still occasionally crave alcohol.
For a while after quitting, I had an overwhelming craving for sweets.
Now, I don't crave sweets.
I don't want to drink sweet drinks like cola or juice.
For a while, I drank sparkling water.
Now, cold barley tea tastes absolutely delicious.
Fruit tastes great; I've been eating it since morning.

 It's been eight months since I stopped drinking.
I'm going to write about the changes I've experienced since I stopped.
I still occasionally crave alcohol.
For a while after quitting, I had an overwhelming craving for sweets.

I don't want to drink sugary drinks like cola or juice.
For a while, I drank sparkling water.
Now, I feel cold barley tea tastes absolutely good.

 I'm currently taking medication to lower my cholesterol.
I'm not eating butter, cheese, or yogurt.
I've switched to lean pork and stopped stir-frying vegetables in lard.
I've reduced my intake of saturated fats.

 I have a blood test in about two weeks.

My arrhythmia has cleared up, so I'll be able to return to diving once my cholesterol levels go down.

I keep my camera and lenses in a sealed container and replace the desiccant.

聖ヨハネの記念日。 St. John's feast day.

　夜の７時過ぎに太鼓の音が聞こえてきました。

住まいの前の通りを行列が歩いてゆきました。

カトリックの聖人カレンダーにおいて、6月12日は南スペインの貧しい人々に尽くし、平和のために生涯を捧げた「聖ヨハネ（サハグン）」の記念日とされています。

 In the Catholic calendar of saints, June 12 is the feast day of St. John (Sahagún), who dedicated his life to helping the poor in southern Spain and promoting peace.

　庭に面している出入口の使い勝手がよくなりました。

詳しい開閉の説明は省きます。

室内から外の鉄の格子戸を開閉できるようになりました。

今迄は出入り口から外に出て外側から庭に面した鉄の格子戸を開閉していました。

　

　洗濯物も植木の給水も楽になりました。

部屋を汚すのは嫌なのでベランダ用のサンダルを増やしました。

　椅子に座ったまま雀の砂浴びを見たいので砂を大きな浅い入れ物に入れました。

雀は野生なので用心深く物の配置や形が変わっていると近寄ってきません。

待つのも楽しみの一つです。

　EMSの国際スピード郵便を使いました。

これで３回目です。

日本から７日間でここの郵便局に着くことが解りました。

　こちらで買えないものが手に入りました。

麦茶は毎日飲むので重要です。

グルーミングの５枚替え刃と歯ブラシは買い足しました。

足の攣りには６８番です。

浅漬けには昆布がいります。

　こちらで歯の治療をしたので食べ物が歯に挟まる事はなくなりました。

歯のクリーニングをしているので口内は問題ありません。

不整脈は治り、血圧は正常です。

ただLDLコレステロールが高いので食餌と薬で下げている最中です。

日本のハシカ怖いですね、脅威の感染率です。

 I was able to get some things I couldn't buy here.

Barley tea is important because I drink it every day.

I bought an extra five-blade razor blades and a toothbrush.

I need kelp for quick pickles.

 I had dental treatment here, so food no longer gets stuck in my teeth.

My teeth are cleaned regularly, so there are no problems in my mouth.

My arrhythmia has been cured, and my blood pressure is normal.

However, my LDL cholesterol is high, so I'm currently trying to lower it with diet and medication.

Measles in Japan is scary; the infection rate is alarming.

津波に注意。 Beware of tsunamis.

 フィリピン沖で発生したマグニチュード8.2の地震を受け、アジア各地に津波警報が発令された。

２つの驚き。 There were two different surprises.

 

　アジアンタムの樹勢が悪い。

葉に勢いがない。

開いた新緑の葉が茶色に変色してゆく。

　モールに園芸用の蛭石があったので驚いた。

喜んで買った。

早速アジアンタムの鉢植えの土に混ぜた。

これで鉢の通気性も排水性も良くなるだろう。

次世代の若芽があるのでこれの成長に期待します。

　驚いたことがもう一つありました。

日本の小学生の給食です。

これを成長ざかりの世代に食べさせているんですね。

落ちぶれたくないものだとつくづく思いました。

 My Adiantum fern is not doing well.

The leaves lack vitality.

The newly opened, green leaves are turning brown.

 I was surprised to find gardening vermiculite at the mall.

I happily bought it.

I immediately mixed it into the soil of my potted maidenhair fern.

This should improve the soil's aeration and drainage.

There are new shoots, so I'm looking forward to their growth.

 There was another thing that surprised me.
It was the school lunches for elementary school students in Japan.
They're feeding this to a generation in their formative years.
I was truly saddened to see the country go to the dogs.

砂浴び用の植木鉢は雨で濡れないようにテラスの内側に置きました。

水浴びをしてくれません。

海の浅瀬で水浴びをしているのでしょうか。

もしそうだとしたら雀が羽を震わせて水しぶきを上げる光景を見てみたいですね。

They only perch on the edge and drink the water.
They don't bathe in it.
Perhaps they bathe in the shallow waters of the sea?
If so, I'd love to see the sight of sparrows shaking their wings and splashing water.

　アボカドは３日目にいい具合に熟しました。

一晩冷蔵庫でねかせてからいただきました。

未だ外見からアボカドの良否は判断できません。

半分に割ったアボカドにレモン汁と塩をふって食べています。

　医者からLDLコレステロールを下げろと言われています。

今月の２５日に血液検査をします。

幸運なことに不整脈が無くなりました。

LDLコレステロールを下げてダイビングを再開したいと思っています。

バターは一口も食べていません。

トーストに厚切りのバターをのせて食べるのが好きでした。

獣脂も絶っています。

検査まであと４週間です。

 The avocado ripened nicely on the third day.
I let it sit in the refrigerator overnight before eating it.
I still can't judge the quality of an avocado by its appearance.

I ate avocados that I've cut in half, sprinkled with lemon juice and salt.

 My doctor has told me to lower my LDL cholesterol.
I have a blood test on the 25th of this month.
Fortunately, my arrhythmia has disappeared.
I want to lower my LDL cholesterol and resume diving.
I haven't eaten a single bite of butter.
I used to love eating toast with thick slices of butter.
I've also cut out animal fats.
I have four weeks until the test.

　爪が巻き爪気味なので時々爪の横が痛みます。

酒をやめたせいでしょうか体が柔らかくなったようです。

屈んで足の爪が楽に切れるようになりました。

爪を切ったあとはアルコールで消毒しています。

左端は鼻毛きりです。

爪を切る時に鼻毛をそろておくと鼻がムズムズしません。

　爪切りのメーカーを調べてみたら貝印でした。

鰹節を削る鉋も貝印です。

貝印の刃物は切れ味が良くて安価です。

そして長持ちします。

かれこれ２０年以上使っています。

 My toenails tend to grow in, so the sides of my nails sometimes hurt.
Perhaps it's because I stopped drinking alcohol, but my body seems to have become more flexible.
I can now easily cut my toenails while bending down.
After cutting my nails, I disinfect them with alcohol.
The item on the far left is a nose hair trimmer.
If I trim my nose hairs at the same time I cut my nails, my nose doesn't get itchy.

 I looked up the manufacturer of the nail clippers, and it was Kai Corporation.
The plane I use to shave bonito flakes is also Kai Corporation.
Kai Corporation blades are sharp and inexpensive.
And they last a long time.
I've been using them for over 20 years.

私の住んでいるタグビララン市の郵便局から荷物到着の連絡は5/24にありました。

７、８年前は日本を出てから荷物が届くまで2～3週間かかっていました。

　今回コーヒー豆の焙煎度をミディアムにしました。

前回の焙煎度シナモンと比べて味がどう変わるか楽しみです。

私の淹れているメソッドは浅煎りで湯温９３℃です。

中煎りで湯温８８℃ですから５℃下がります。

楽しみです。

　納豆作りは何十回もトライしましたがうまくゆきませんでした。

納豆菌の種類をかえました。

大豆を買いに行ったら　売り切れよ　と言われました。

前途多難な予感がします。

 The shipping company dispatched the package from Japan on May 18th.
I received notification of the package's arrival from the post office in Tagbilaran, where I live, on May 24th.
Seven or eight years ago, it took two to three weeks for a package to arrive after it left Japan.
The delivery time has become much faster.

 I changed the roast level of my coffee beans to medium this time.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the taste changes compared to the previous cinnamon roast.
My brewing method uses a light roast with a water temperature of 93°C.
For a medium roast, the water temperature is 88°C, so it's 5°C lower.
I'm excited!

 I've tried making natto dozens of times, but it never worked.

I changed the type of natto bacteria I used.

When I went to buy soybeans, the shopkeeper told me they were sold out.

I expect this will be a difficult process.

小さな梯子。 The small ladder.

 

　小さな梯子を踏み台がわりに買いました。

庭に面した出入口は風通しが良いのでベッドパッド等をよく干します。

下の写真の右側にある椅子を使って干していました

先日干している最中に足の形が椅子のクッションについているのが気になりました。

張替えたきれいなクッションを汚してはいけないので踏み台を買った次第です。

小さな梯子はアルミ製で軽く持ち運びも簡単なので重宝しています。

 I bought a small ladder to use as a step stool.
The entrance facing the garden is well-ventilated, so I often hang out bed pads and other items there to dry.
I used to use the chair on the right in the photo below to dry them.

The other day, while drying clothes them, I noticed the imprint of my feet on the chair's cushion.

I didn't want to stain the nicely reupholstered cushion, so I bought a step stool.
The small ladder is made of aluminum, so it's light and easy to carry, making it very useful.

 

　散歩をしていると旗が張り巡らされてフィエスタの表示がありました。

この場所がウブハンとマンガの境目なんだだなあと思いました。

地図上で町の境目はわかっていも実際はどこが町の境かわからなかったんです。

タグビララン市の北端がマンガでその次がウブハンです。

そして二つの町はいずれもひなびたのんびりとした雰囲気のある漁師町です。

この街に移り住んで本当に良かったと思っています。

　バイクでボホールトロピックスまで６，７分です。

BQモール迄１０分くらいです。

ICM迄１２，３分です。

海辺で潮風に吹かれて暮らしているのでアレルギーも落ち着いています。

金属の棚が塩分で錆びますが買い替えればいいので錆びは気にしていません。

 As I was walking, I saw flags everywhere and signs indicating a fiesta.
I realized this was the border between Ubhan and Manga.
Even though I knew the town boundaries on the map, I didn't really know where the actual border was.
Manga is at the northernmost point of Tagbilaran City, and Ubhan is right after it.
Both towns are quaint, laid-back fishing villages.
I'm so glad I moved to this town.

 It's a 6-7 minute motorbike ride to Bohol Tropics.
It's about a 10-minute ride to BQ Mall.
It's a 12-13 minute ride to ICM.
I live by the sea, surrounded by the sea breeze, so my allergies are under control.
The metal shelves rust from the salt, but I don't mind the rust because I can replace them.

   *Fiesta

This term refers to a "festival" or "celebration" that developed in Catholic cultural areas such as Spain, Central and South America, and the Philippines.

It mainly refers to a traditional event that combines religious ceremonies celebrating the local patron saint with music, dance, and lavish feasts.
