雨が降って植木に水をあげてくれた。 The rain fell and helped me water the plants.

　朝起きてだるい体で庭を見ると植木鉢の土がしっとりと湿っていました。

雨が降って植木に水をあげてくれました。

いやー、ありがたい事です。

今の体の状態では重いバケツを運んで植木に水をあげるのは苦行いがいの何物でもありません。

感謝、感謝々です。

　ブログを書くのにこんなに体力を使うとは想像していませんでした。

涙目で文面を考えながらキーボードを使うのはとても疲れます。

はやくもとの身体に戻りたいと切に願っています。

　いままで経験しなかった事ですが今回の病で歯が浮いて痛んでいます。

風邪か扁桃腺炎か解りませんがこんな事も起きるんだなあと身体に語りかけました。

 I woke up feeling exhausted this morning and looked into the garden to find that the soil in the flower pots was moist.

It had rained, which helped me water the plants.

I am truly grateful.

With my current physical condition, carrying a heavy bucket to water the plants is anything but difficult.

I am so grateful.

 I never imagined writing a blog would take so much energy.

It is very tiring to use the keyboard while thinking about what to write with my teary eyes.

I sincerely hope to get my body back to normal soon.

 This is something I have never experienced before, but my teeth are loose and hurting because of this illness.

I don't know if it's a cold or tonsillitis, but I told my body that things like this happen.

私は土のなかの微生物と小さな生き物をとても尊敬している。 I have a lot of respect for the microorganisms and small creatures in the soil.

　ピンぼけの写真で申し訳ない。

アジアンタムの新芽が出た。

一日に何回も水を新芽にスプレーしている。

培養土の上に置いた肥料にカビが生えてきた。

土のなかの微生物が活動してくれている。

ミミズが籾殻を食べた黒い細かな土が鉢の表面に見える。

米ぬかと魚粉を鉢に混ぜ込んだ効果が目に見えるようになってきた。

土のなかの微生物と小さな生き物をとても尊敬しています。

New shoots of the Adiantum have appeared.

I spray the shoots with water several times a day.

Mould has started growing on the fertilizer I put on top of the potting soil.

The microorganisms in the soil are becoming active.

You can see fine black soil where earthworms have eaten the rice husks on the pot's surface.

The effects of mixing rice bran and fish meal into the soil are becoming apparent.

I have a lot of respect for the microorganisms and small creatures in the soil.

アジアンタム。 My Adiantum.

　アジアンタムの生育が悪いので植え替えをしました。

人も植物も環境は大切ですね。

新しい芽も順調に育っています。

 My Adiantum wasn't growing well, so I repotted it.

The environment is important for both people and plants.

The new buds are growing well.

ベンジャミン。 benjamin tree.

　椰子の鉢植えをベランダに出して代わりにベンジャミンの鉢植えを置きました。

ベンジャミンに新芽が次々に伸びて古い葉が落ちて新し若緑の葉に変わりました。

新し若緑の葉はすべすべしてつやつやしています。

こんな事があるのかなあ　と不思議な出来事に出会った気持ちです。

 I moved the potted palm tree onto the verandah and put a potted benjamin tree in its place.

New buds are growing on that one after another, and the old leaves are falling off to be replaced by new, young, green leaves.

The new, young green leaves are smooth and shiny.

I felt like I had encountered a mysterious event, wondering if something like this could really happen.

スコールの後は緑が蘇ります。 After the squall, the greenery comes back to life.

日本の尺度では暮らしてゆけない。 I couldn't survive by Japanese standards.

　町役場に在留証明を受け取りに行くと　ごめん明日にして　と言われた。

洋裁店に行くと　まだできていないの　土曜に来て　と言われた。

日本の物差しを捨ててこちらの物差しで測れるようになったので腹はたたない。

その事が終わるのが１週間遅れても困ることはない。

そう思えるようになってから気持ちが楽になった。

自分の中の二つの予定がくるってしまった。

予定を植木関係に 変更した。

 When I went to the town hall to collect my residence certificate, the staff member said, "Sorry, please do it tomorrow."

When I went to the dressmaking shop, they told me it wasn't ready yet and to return on Saturday.

I'm not upset because I've now thrown away my Japanese ruler and can measure things with one here.

It won't be a problem if the job is completed a week late.

Once I started thinking like that, I felt more at ease.

Two of my plans have come to an end.

I changed my plans to something related to gardening.

　鉢植えの土と植木を２本と植木鉢を買ったらバイクはいっぱいだ。

My bike is full after buying some potting soil, two plants, and a flowerpot.

　買ってきた植木を鉢に入れた。

根が育ちすぎた鉢植えは大きな鉢に植え替えた。

右の鉢はガマガエルが住み着くようになってから枯れ始めた。

ガマは毒液を出すのだろうか。

I put the plants I bought in the pots.

I repotted the potted plants whose roots had grown too much into larger pots.

The pot on the right began to wither after a toad moved in.

I wonder if toads secrete something toxic.

　鉢の土が少なくなった鉢に買ってきた土を足した。

　午後の日差しと紫外線は強い。

全身汗まみれだ。

強い日差しを避けて日陰に入るとすぐに蚊が寄ってくる。

日向に出ると蚊は追ってこない。

蚊は強い日差しと紫外線が苦手なことが分かった。

　シャワーを浴びて汗を流してから冷えた西瓜を食べた。

汗まみれになった後の西瓜は旨かった。

The afternoon sun and UV rays are strong.

I was covered in sweat from head to toe.

As soon as I went into the shade to avoid the strong sunlight, mosquitoes immediately approached me.

When I went out into the sun, the mosquitoes didn't follow me.

I realized that mosquitoes don't like strong sunlight and ultraviolet rays.

I took a shower to wash off the sweat and then ate some chilled watermelon.

The watermelon tasted good after being covered in sweat.

観葉植物の入れ替えをした。 I replaced the houseplants.

　部屋の中の観葉植物を外に出した。

外にある元気な観葉植物を部屋に入れた。

外から部屋の中に入った鉢植えの植物は元気さを部屋中に振りまいている。

観葉植物の鉢が増えたので２・３週間単位で内外の鉢を交換できるようになった。

外に置いていいる元気な観葉植物の鉢は根が張ってきたので植え替えをする必要がある。

鉢と培養土の手配が必要だ。

出来ればドライシーズンが来る前に植え替えを終わらせたい。

 The houseplants that were indoors have been moved outside. Conversely, the healthy houseplants from outside have now been brought into the room. 

The potted plants that have entered are filling the space with vibrant energy.'

As the number of pots has increased, we can now rotate the pots indoors and outdoors every two to three weeks. 

The healthy plants outside need to be repotted soon because their roots have outgrown their current containers. 

We need to prepare new pots and appropriate soil for this task. 

I want to ensure that all replanting is completed before the dry season sets in.

アジアンタムの植え替えをしました。

　アジアンタムの植え替えをしました。

なぜかアジアンタムの葉がちぢれ始めたので今回の植え替えになりました。

鉢の直径と高さを10cmくらい大きくしました。

新しい土はICMの近くに並んでいる植木の市場で買いました。

水はけが良くなるように用土にパーライトを多く混ぜました。

植え替える前は根腐れしないようにパームソイル（ヤシの繊維でできた培養土）を入れていました。

　鉢を覆ったアジアンタムの葉に陽があたり透けたような感じになるのを見るのが好きです、うっとりします。

鉢を覆うくらい葉が増えないとうっとり出来ません。

早く増えろ　早く増えろ　と無理を言いながら鉢に霧を吹いています。

 I repotted my Adiantum.

For some reason, the leaves of my Adiantum started to wilt, so I decided to repot it this time.

I spray mist into the pot, telling it to grow quickly and quickly.

モンステラは元気です

　モンステラはとても元気で気根をたくさん伸ばしています。

モンステラに待望の穴開きの葉が出ました。

下の葉に光が届くように風通しが悪くならないように葉に穴が空くのだそうです。

The long-awaited leaves with holes have appeared on the Monstera.

The holes in the leaves allow light to reach the lower leaves and prevent poor air circulation.

雀の叡智

　鉢植えの葉に毛虫がつきました。

病害虫向けの薬剤オルトトリジンを鉢の土に撒き毛虫を退治しました。

水に溶けた薬剤を木が吸い上げて木の葉を食べた害虫は死ぬという仕組みです。

　あれほど砂浴びに来ていた雀が来なくなりました。

雀は薬剤で汚染された鉢植えの土を嫌っているんですね。

雀は鉢の縁や枝葉にはとまりますが鉢のなかの土には触れません。

アレルギー性のわたしは雀の叡智に感心しています。

 Caterpillars appeared on the leaves of a potted plant.

I sprinkled the pesticide Orthotolizine into the soil.

And the caterpillars were killed.

The sparrows, who used to come to take dust baths so often, stopped coming.

They hate contaminated potted soil.

雨期だというのに

　雨期だというのにいい天気が続き雨が降りません。

洗濯物はよく乾きます、乾いた洗濯物を取り込んで新しい洗濯物を干しました。

ベランダの植木鉢が乾いているので水をたっぷりあげました。

 Even though it's the rainy season, the weather has been nice, and no rain.

The laundry dries quickly, so I brought in the dry laundry and hung out the new laundry.

The flowerpots on the verandah were dry, so I gave them lots of water.

考えがずれていた

　ネットで耐陰性に強い植物を調べて室内に置いていました。

室内で元気のなくなった植物を外に出すと見違えるように生育して葉の色艶も見違えるように良くなりました。

ネットの作者を見ると何々園芸が殆でした。

”室内の観葉植物は時々外に出して・・・”　と注意書きがありましたが　”屋外の観葉植物を時々室内に置いて・・・”　と読み替えたほうが良さそうです。

またアジアンタムやアレカヤシを日向に出すと葉焼けを起こしてしまう事もわかりました。

日本と比べると四季がなく温暖で紫外線が7倍強いフィリピンでは日本で書かれたことはあまり意味を持たないようです。

 I took outside my Indoor plants.

They became very energetic.

I was happy to see them.

植木に水やりをした

　今ボホールは雨期です。

雨は夜中に少量降ることが多くスコールのような短時間に降る大雨は少ない傾向にあります。

ここ3日ばかり雨が降らないので植木鉢の水がなくなってしまいました。

ジョウロに水を汲んで植木にたっぷりと水をかけました。

晴れていたのでベランダの照り返しが凄く日本の7倍の紫外線にくらくらしました。

土曜日なのでカラオケが3箇所から流れて賑やかです。

4・5年前の雨期にはもう少し雨が多かったような気がします。

これも気候変動の影響なのでしょうね。

雀の砂浴び

　ベンジャミンの植木鉢は雀のお気に入りの砂浴び場になりました。

雀は身体を植木の用土に沈めて身体と一緒に両方の羽を振るわせ砂浴びをしています、用土が外にこぼれると楕円形のくぼみが出来その中に身体を沈めて羽と身体を振動させています。

砂浴びに来るスズメの数も増え1羽あたりの砂浴びの時間も長くなったので植木の用土は沢山外にこぼれるようになりました。

雀の砂浴びでこぼれた用土を箒で集めて元の鉢に戻すことを繰り返しています。

雀に仕事を作ってもらったことを喜ぶべきなのでしょうか。

　洗面器に浅く水をはっていますが海が近いせいか水浴びをする雀はいません。

雀を追い払うのも大人げないのでどうしたらいいのか思案中です。

成長しない観葉植物には理由があった

 　この観葉植物を買ったのは何年前でしょうか。

当時は未だボホールの植木屋に腐葉土等の観念がなくその辺の土を植木鉢にいれて足で踏み固めていました。

鉢植えの植木を植え替えるとかわいそうに根っこは硬い粘土のような土に囲まれていました、長い間悪い環境に置いてごめんなさいね。

今度は下半分通気性の良いピートモスを入れてその上にもみ殻とおが屑の混ざった用土を入れました。

保水性の良い用土です、根が蒸れないように通気性も良くなっています、ゆっくり根を伸ばしてたっぷり水を吸ってください。

どうぞ空中に根が持ち上がるほど根を伸ばしてください。

　枯れてきた葉を切ったので鉢はさみしい姿になりましたが新しい葉が出てきました。

水をあげたいんですがこのての耐陰性のある植物は鉢の用土が乾いてから3日ぐらい経ってから水やりしたほうが良いことが解ったので早く乾け々と鉢植えに声をかけています。

　このモンステラも植え替えました、買ってきた鉢の底には水はけの悪い粘土質の土がありました。

鉢を変えて水はけの良い用土に植え替えると新しい葉が出てきました。

嬉しいじゃありませんか、ベランダに出る度に飽きずに若緑の葉を眺めています。
