糠漬けの味がまろやかになりました

ぬか床の匂いが変わりました。

糠漬けの匂いが薄くなり良い香りがします。

　朝漬けた野菜は夕方に取り出して食べます。

夜漬けた野菜は翌朝食べます。

野菜を取り出すたびにそれをかき回しているのでぬかのあぶらで右手の甲の艶がよくなりました。

　今迄は熱と発汗は身体の毒だしくらいに考えていました。

汗を出すと風邪は治りました。

今回の肺炎の入院で今迄の経験則は役に立たないことが解りました。

生物のたどる道は理解しているつもりでしたが当事者になると加齢は残酷です。

　園芸初心者の私は鉢植えの植木の水やりの基準が解らず困っていました。

この葉の厚い密集した植木は水が足りなくなると立っていた葉がしなっとしおれます。

この植木の葉のしおれを基準にして水やりをしています。

ベランダのパイロットツリーです。

大正解でした。

水を噴霧した時の水の粒子の細かさが違います。

こちらで買ったスプレーの噴霧の粒子はザラメ大です。

新しいスプレーの噴霧の粒子は小麦粉の粉末のような細かさです。

　植木に葉水をすると霧になった水が葉の上で丸い水滴に変わります。

葉を枝を近くで見るので今まで気が付かなかった　葉の丸まり　害虫　に気が付きます。

葉水をすると植物が生き生きと蘇ります。

傾けても噴霧できるスプレーは園芸初心者の必需品です。

　入院してからずっと吸入薬を使っているので喉がかれてしわがれ声になりました。

日本茶でケーキを食べた後喉が楽になりました

驚きました

　朝茶はその日の難逃れ　という諺があります。

空港工事でこちらに見えた方のお兄さんはお医者さんです。

診察した患者からの空気感染を避けるために日本茶を飲んで喉からの感染を防いでいるそうです。

　日本茶を２、３日飲み続けると喉の違和感がとれてしわがれ声も治りました。

ハーブティーなんて言っていないで日本茶を飲めばいいのになあ　と思いました。

ハーブティーに恨みはありません、念のために申し添えます。

腹の底が熱くなりました。

　BQモールの米売り場で日本米を売っていました。

フィリピン産の日本米です。

　通販サイトで売っている同じものは価格は約倍です。

それを一度通販で買いましたが味が良いわけではなく同じ品物でした。

日本米をあの価格で売っても売れるはずはないと思っています。

こちらで日本米を二期作しているので米がさばききれなくなったのでしょう。

　こちらの通販サイトは価格が高いです。

品揃えが良いわけではありません。

配達に日数がかかります。

アマゾンで買って日本から７、８日で届くようになりました。

こちらの通販をあまり利用するメリットはありません。

たまに利用するだけです。

It was Japanese rice grown in the Philippines.

 The same rice sold on online shopping sites costs about twice as much.
I bought it online once, but it wasn't any better tasting; it was the same product.
I don't think they could possibly sell Japanese rice at that price.
Since they cultivate Japanese rice twice a year here, the farmers probably can't sell all of their rice.

 This region's online store is expensive.
The selection isn't great.
Delivery takes a long time.

I can now buy from Amazon and get my items delivered from Japan in 7-8 days.
I don't see much benefit to using this online store.
I only use it occasionally.

季節のもの。 Seasonal fruits.

 

　モールの果物売り場にマンゴスチンがたくさんありました。

マンゴーやパパイヤと違って通年あるものではありません。

マンゴスチンは季節の食べ物です。

　赤黒い硬い厚い果皮を割ると白い果肉があらわれます。

果肉を口に入れて舌を太らせて上あごに押し付けると清冽な甘酸っぱい果汁が口の中に広がります。

果汁を飲み込んだ後の口に残る甘さもほどよく果物の女王の名を汚しません。

　日本的な甘さはあんこや甘酒のあまさでさっぱりとしています。

日本にいる間は草餅や桜餅をたべて茶を飲んだ後口の良さを楽しみました。

洋菓子の油脂の混ざった甘さとは別の物です。

Mangosteens are a seasonal fruit.

 When I break open the thick, dark red rind with my hands, white flesh is revealed.
When I put the flesh in my mouth, widen my tongue, and press it against the roof of my mouth, a refreshing, sweet, and sour juice spreads throughout my mouth.
The lingering sweetness after swallowing the juice is just right, living up to its reputation as the queen of fruits.

 Japanese sweetness is refreshing, like that of red bean paste or amazake (sweet sake made from fermented rice).
While in Japan, I enjoyed the pleasant aftertaste of eating kusamochi (rice cakes with mugwort) and sakuramochi (rice cakes with cherry blossoms) and drinking tea.
It's different from the oily sweetness of Western confectionery.

突然変異の葉の色は緑だった。 The mutated leaf was green.

 

　鉢植えの植木の枝から同じ形をした緑色一色の葉が生えてきました。

この緑色をした葉はなぜか他の葉より大きいんです。

　AIから　突然変異である事　緑色の葉は生命力が強く元の木を枯らしてしまう事　枝を根元から切る事　を教えてもらいました。

早速その枝を切りました。

切った枝を植木鉢にさしました、うまく根付いてくれるといいんですが・・・

植木初心者はまた一つ体験を増やしました。

　バスタオルやタオルケットの乾きが悪いので物干し上部のパイプを増やしました。

３０cmくらい離して２本のパイプを平行にして洗濯物の間に空間を作り乾きやすくしました。

目論見通りに乾きにくい厚手のパイルもパリパリに乾きました。

我が家の洗濯物の乾燥の革命です。

 Because bath towels and towel blankets were taking a long time to dry, I added an extra pipe to the top of the clothesline.
I placed two pipes parallel to each other, about 30 cm apart, to create space for wind to circulate between the laundry, making it easier for the clothes to dry.
As planned, even thick, hard-to-dry terrycloth items dried completely crisp.

　前回パパイヤの追熟がうまくゆきおいしいパパイヤを食べました。

今回の追熟でパパイヤは先端がいたみ全体が黄色くなりません。

でも実は弾力があります。

杉浦日向子さんのごくらくちんみは何回読み直してもいいですね。

食べ物の描写もすごいんですが人間の感情描写・男女描写すごいです。

各章イラストも含めて３頁の短編のなかにみっしりと詰まっています。

 I reread the book while I was without internet access.
Hinako Sugiura's *Gokuraku Chinmi* is wonderful no matter how many times I reread it; it always surprises me.
The descriptions of food are amazing, but the depictions of human emotions and the portrayal of men and women are incredible.
Each chapter, including the illustrations, is a short story of three pages, yet it's packed with so many emotions.

モバイルネットワーク。 The mobile network.

 

　スマホを買い替えたときにWIFIが使えないときのためにモバイルネットワークの設定を頼みました。

モバイルデータを１５GB買いました。

簡単だから自分で設定してね　と言われました。

モバイルネットワークの設定が出来ないのでスマホを買った店に持ってゆくと　設定が出来ている　と言われました。

　インターネット接続が出来なくなったのでプロバイダーに行って修理を依頼しました。

離れた席に電話のカウンターがあったのでモバイルネットワークの接続を頼みました。

彼の指示通りにスマホを操作してモバイルネットワークの接続が出来るようになりました。

簡単に接続できたので驚きました。

依然としてスマホは私にとって鬼門です。

御礼を言うと　何かあったら来てください　と丁寧に受け答えしてくれました。

 My internet connection stopped working, so I went to my internet provider and requested a repair.
There was a phone counter at a separate table, so I told him in charge to connect the mobile network.
I followed his instructions and was able to connect to the mobile network.
I was surprised how easy it was to connect.
Smartphones are still an Achilles ' heel for me.
When I thanked him, he politely told me to come back if I had any problems.

煮干しの出汁をとりました。 I made dried sardine broth.

 

　煮干しの粉で出汁を倍の濃さで作りました。

出汁をとっているあいだに出てくる灰汁はとりません。

冷めてからコーヒーのフィルターで漉しました。

試しに煮干しの出汁で味噌汁を作りました。

おいしくて２杯飲んでいしまいました。

満足してそうか々と独り言をくりかえしました

私はかつお出汁より煮干し出汁の味噌汁がすきです。

I prefer miso soup made with dried sardine broth to one made with bonito broth.

米麹で作った甘酒は甘くておいしい。 Amazake made with rice koji is sweet and good.

 

　初めて米麹で作った甘酒を飲みました。

その甘さに驚きました。

時代劇で茶屋に甘酒とよく書いてありました。

当時の旅人はこの甘い味を楽しんでいたんですね。

口直しに紫蘇の実の醤油漬けでも出たのでしょうか。

　材料は米麹とご飯と水です。

ヨーグルトメーカーで５５℃で１２時間設定にしました。

発酵の途中で容器の中の甘酒をかき回すと甘みが増すようです。

冷たい甘酒もおいしいですね。

米麹は冷凍がきくので保存が楽です。

 I tried amazake made with rice koji for the first time.
I was surprised by its sweetness.
In historical dramas, amazake was often advertised at teahouses.
Travelers of that time must have enjoyed this sweet taste.
Perhaps they were served pickled shiso seeds in soy sauce as a palate cleanser?

 The ingredients are rice koji, cooked rice, and water.
I set my yogurt maker to 55°C for 12 hours.
Stirring the amazake in the container during fermentation seems to increase the sweetness.
Cold amazake is also good.
Rice koji can be frozen, making it easy to store.
