日差しが強くなりました。 The sunshine is strong, it's already dry season.

　晴れた日が続き日差しが強くなりました。

観葉植物の水分の蒸散も半端ではありません。

植木にたっぷり水をあげて洗濯物を干しました。

蚊にくわれました。

腹が減りました。

 The sunny days continue, and the sunlight has become very strong.
The houseplants are losing a tremendous amount of water through transpiration.
I watered the plants thoroughly and hung out the laundry.
I got bitten by mosquitoes.
I'm hungry.

寝具の色で部屋の雰囲気は変わります。 The color of my bedding can change the atmosphere of a room.

　寝ているあいだ布団を身体にかけていないことに気が付きました。

今は掛け布団のかわりに掛布団のカバーを使っています。

 I realized I wasn't using the comforter to cover myself while I slept.

Now I'm using the comforter cover instead.

　暑くなってきたので布団カバーを薄い涼しい柄に変えました。

窓から熱い外気が部屋に入ってくるようになりました。

ドライシーヅンの到来です。

 It's been getting hotter recently, so I changed my futon cover to a thin, cool pattern.
Hot air from outside is coming into the room through the window.
The dry season has arrived.

粉末の化学調味料は便利で台所に欠かすことが出来ません。 Powdered chemical seasonings are convenient and indispensable in my kitchen.

　フィリピンで味の素の小袋はこんなパッケージデザインです。

　今ここで使っている天然の調味料は鰹節・鰹節の粉・煮干しの粉・昆布・干しシイタケです。

これらは出汁をとるのに手間がかかります。

気力がみなぎった時でないと作る気になりません。

　化学調味料は振り入れるだけなので手間がかかりません。

中華味・鶏スープも簡単に作れます。

粉末の化学調味料は便利で台所に欠かすことが出来ません。

 In the Philippines, Ajinomoto packets have this kind of packaging design.
 The natural seasonings I'm currently using are bonito flakes, bonito flake powder, dried sardine powder, kelp, and dried shiitake mushrooms.
Making broth from these takes time and effort.
I make broth in batches when I feel like it.
 Chemical seasonings are easy to use; I sprinkle them in.
You can easily make Chinese-style flavors and chicken soup with them.
Powdered chemical seasonings are convenient and indispensable in my kitchen.

南の季節風が吹いています。 The southerly seasonal winds are blowing.

　南の季節風・ハガパッドが吹いています。

待ちに待ったドライシーズンがやってきました。

午後４時の気温は３２℃です。

 The southerly seasonal wind, Hagapad, is blowing.
I've been waiting for the long-time dry season to arrive.
The temperature at 4 PM is 32°C.

あまいものがすき、塩味がすき。 I like sweets and salty things.

 

　ごくらくちんみの著者の杉浦日向子さんが本の中で書いているように甘いものを少しづつ味わいながら食べています。

甘酸っぱいレーズンケーキおいしいですね。

甘いものを食べる時は紅茶を飲んでいます。

　コーヒーの時には塩味のナッツがいいですね。

コーヒーの酸味がよくわかります。

Sweet-and-sour raisin cake is good.
When I eat sweets, I drink tea.

 When I have coffee, salty nuts are a good choice.
They enhance the acidity of the coffee.

ぬか床を冷蔵庫から出して一月が過ぎました。 It's been a month since I took the rice bran pickle bed out of the refrigerator.

　ぬか床を冷蔵庫から出して一月が過ぎました。

一日に二回ぬか床をかき回しています。

糠漬けの味がまろやかになりました

ぬか床の匂いが変わりました。

糠漬けの匂いが薄くなり良い香りがします。

　朝漬けた野菜は夕方に取り出して食べます。

夜漬けた野菜は翌朝食べます。

野菜を取り出すたびにそれをかき回しているのでぬかのあぶらで右手の甲の艶がよくなりました。

  It's been a month since I took the rice bran pickle bed out of the refrigerator.

I stir the rice bran bed twice a day.

The taste of the pickles has become milder.

The smell of the rice bran bed has changed.
The smell of the rice-borne pickles has become weaker, and it smells nice.
 I take out and eat the vegetables I pickle in the morning and in the evening.
I eat the vegetables I pickle at night, the next morning.
Because I stir it every time I take out the vegetables, the rice bran oil has made the back of my right hand shiny.

　風邪薬ありがとうございます。

今後は喉の異常、咳、発熱時は風邪薬を飲んですぐ医者に行きます。

　今迄は熱と発汗は身体の毒だしくらいに考えていました。

汗を出すと風邪は治りました。

今回の肺炎の入院で今迄の経験則は役に立たないことが解りました。

生物のたどる道は理解しているつもりでしたが当事者になると加齢は残酷です。

I brewed some tea and enjoyed the aroma, texture, and taste of Japan for the first time in a long time.
It was a luxurious time after a long while.

 Thank you for the cold medicine.
From now on, if I have a sore throat, cough, or fever, I will take cold medicine and go to the doctor immediately.
Until now, I thought that fever and sweating were just the body's way of expelling toxins.
Sweating always cured my colds.
This hospitalization for pneumonia has shown me that my previous experience is no longer useful.
I thought I understood the path that living things follow, but when I  experience it myself, aging is cruel.
