 In the Philippines, Ajinomoto packets have this kind of packaging design.
 The natural seasonings I'm currently using are bonito flakes, bonito flake powder, dried sardine powder, kelp, and dried shiitake mushrooms.
Making broth from these takes time and effort.
I make broth in batches when I feel like it.
 Chemical seasonings are easy to use; I sprinkle them in.
You can easily make Chinese-style flavors and chicken soup with them.

待ちに待ったドライシーズンがやってきました。

I've been waiting for the long-time dry season to arrive.
The temperature at 4 PM is 32°C.

あまいものがすき、塩味がすき。 I like sweets and salty things.

甘いものを食べる時は紅茶を飲んでいます。

　コーヒーの時には塩味のナッツがいいですね。

コーヒーの酸味がよくわかります。

Sweet-and-sour raisin cake is good.
When I eat sweets, I drink tea.

 When I have coffee, salty nuts are a good choice.
They enhance the acidity of the coffee.

ぬか床を冷蔵庫から出して一月が過ぎました。 It's been a month since I took the rice bran pickle bed out of the refrigerator.

　ぬか床を冷蔵庫から出して一月が過ぎました。

一日に二回ぬか床をかき回しています。

糠漬けの味がまろやかになりました

ぬか床の匂いが変わりました。

糠漬けの匂いが薄くなり良い香りがします。

　朝漬けた野菜は夕方に取り出して食べます。

夜漬けた野菜は翌朝食べます。

野菜を取り出すたびにそれをかき回しているのでぬかのあぶらで右手の甲の艶がよくなりました。

  It's been a month since I took the rice bran pickle bed out of the refrigerator.

I stir the rice bran bed twice a day.

The taste of the pickles has become milder.

The smell of the rice bran bed has changed.
The smell of the rice-borne pickles has become weaker, and it smells nice.
 I take out and eat the vegetables I pickle in the morning and in the evening.
I eat the vegetables I pickle at night, the next morning.
Because I stir it every time I take out the vegetables, the rice bran oil has made the back of my right hand shiny.

　今迄は熱と発汗は身体の毒だしくらいに考えていました。

汗を出すと風邪は治りました。

今回の肺炎の入院で今迄の経験則は役に立たないことが解りました。

生物のたどる道は理解しているつもりでしたが当事者になると加齢は残酷です。

 Thank you for the cold medicine.
From now on, if I have a sore throat, cough, or fever, I will take cold medicine and go to the doctor immediately.
Until now, I thought that fever and sweating were just the body's way of expelling toxins.
Sweating always cured my colds.
This hospitalization for pneumonia has shown me that my previous experience is no longer useful.
I thought I understood the path that living things follow, but when I  experience it myself, aging is cruel.

パイロットツリー。 Pilot Tree.

　園芸初心者の私は鉢植えの植木の水やりの基準が解らず困っていました。

この葉の厚い密集した植木は水が足りなくなると立っていた葉がしなっとしおれます。

この植木の葉のしおれを基準にして水やりをしています。

ベランダのパイロットツリーです。

 As a gardening novice, I was struggling to figure out how to water potted plants.

This plant, with its thick, dense leaves, wilts and droops when it doesn't get enough water.

I use the wilting of its leaves as my guide for watering.

It's my pilot tree on the balcony.

水やり後の植木は各々の葉が立ってしゃんとしています。

わかりやすいパイロットツリーです。

 Compare it to the photo above.
The leaves of the plant, after watering, are standing upright and firm.
It's a clear example of a pilot tree.

　小いさな黒い色をした蜂が巣作りを始めました。

私は蜂に刺されるのが嫌です。

蜂は庭の手入れをしている人を刺すかもしれません。

可哀そうですが蜂と蜂の巣を取り除くことにしました。

厚手のスラックスをはいてパーカーを着て手には軍手をはめて殺虫剤を撒いてから植木の葉を切り落としました。

 A small, black wasp has started building a nest.
I hate being stung by bees.
The bee might sting someone tending the garden.
Although I felt sorry for it, I decided to remove the bee and its nest.
I put on thick slacks, a hoodie, and work gloves, sprayed insecticide, and then trimmed the leaves off the plants.

モールの人気者。 A popular ride at the mall.

　モールで電動式の怪獣を子供たちに貸し出しています。

これが大人気です。

１階のイベントフロアでは子供をのせた数台の電動式の怪獣が走り回っています。

子供の嬉しそうな顔を見ていると明るい気持ちになります。

 The mall rents out electric monsters to children.

This is very popular with children.
Several electric monsters carrying children are zipping around the event floor on the first floor.
Seeing the children's happy faces brightens my mood.
