理由は明快です。

日本人の観光客が少ないからです。

 There was a photo of onigiri at a shop in Tagbilaran Port.
There was no Japanese text displayed.
The reason is clear.
Because there are few Japanese tourists.

　セブへ向かう船内は空いていました。

There were a lot of empty seats on the ship heading to Cebu.

　セブ港は本降りでした。

白タクを１００ペソ値切ってPRA・リタイアメント事務局に行きました。

書類に記入して２年間延長して自宅への郵送を依頼しました。

担当者は　１０月には郵送されるだろう　と言っていました。

日本食品はいつも行く店で買いました。

 It was pouring rain at Cebu Port.
I paid a 100-peso discount on an unlicensed taxi and went to the PRA Retirement Office.
I filled out some paperwork, extended it for two years, and requested that it be mailed to my home.
The person in charge said it would arrive in October.
I bought Japanese food at my usual store.

日本で買い物をするたびに思った事。 Something I keep thinking about every time I go shopping in Japan.

　日本で買い物をするたびに思っていたことがあります。

ここ数年それが顕著になりました。

嗜好品が極端に少なくなりました。

たたみいわし、くさや等がまちのスーパーから姿を消しました。

わざわざデパート迄買いに行かなければいけないようになりました。

　ここに来た１８年前はアロナビーチには日本語が溢れていました。

今アロナビーチに日本語はありません。

やはりこの事が大きな要因と思います。

 There's something I've thought every time I go shopping in Japan.
This has become even more noticeable in the last few years.
Articles of taste have become extremely scarce.
Items like dried sardines and kusaya have disappeared from local supermarkets.
Now I have to go all the way to the department store to buy them.

 When I came here 18 years ago, Alona Beach was full of Japanese words.
Now there's no Japanese to be found in Alona Beach.
I think this is a major factor.

　日本の賃金は下がり続けています。

これは構造を変えない限り今後も下がりつづけるでしょう。

　反対に税・社会保険料は上がり続けています。

諸外国の多くでこの国民負担率であれば大学まで授業料の支払い免除で医療費は無料です。

日本で子供の出生率が下がるのは当然のことです。

 Wages in Japan continue to fall.
This will likely continue to fall unless the structure is changed.
On the other hand, taxes and social insurance premiums continue to rise.
In many other countries, with this national burden rate, tuition fees are exempt up to university, and medical expenses are free.
It is only natural that the birth rate in Japan is declining.

　そして租税の支出の透明性は９４位です。

この数値は今後も下がり続けるでしょう。

　それは報道の自由度が下がり続けているからです。

新法の施行でさらに下がるでしょう。

　おはようございます。

涼しい朝です、　七時の気温は２６℃です。

台風２０号は北西に移動しながら海南島に向かっています。

洗濯物は風で吹き寄せられました。

歌はロイオービソンのラナです。

ドアロック。 Door lock.

　先日の強風でストックルームのドアが閉まり内側からロックされてしまいました。

ドアを開けるのに大変な思いをしました。

それに懲りてロックする可能性のあるドアの錠前を３箇所付け替えました。

鍵はドアノブに結束バンドで固定しました。

いやあ、ドアを開けるのは本当に大変だったんです。

ドアが開くまで３時間かかりました。

　シャワールームの錠は鍵無しです。

錠がロックしても鍵穴を回せば解錠できます。

こういう錠もあるんですね。

 The other day, strong winds caused the stockroom door to slam shut and lock from the inside.
It was a struggle to get the door open.
Having learned my lesson, I replaced the locks on three doors that might lock.
I secured the key to the doorknob with a cable tie.
Wow, it was really hard to open the door.
It took me three hours to finally get it open.

 The shower room lock is keyless.
Even if the lock is locked, you can unlock it by turning the keyhole.
I didn't know there were locks like this.

トリ天。Chicken tempura.

　石丸謙二郎さんのブログは毎日読んでいます。

大分出身の石丸さんのブログで鶏天の記事を数回見ました。

美味しそうなので作ってみました。

鶏天は焦げてしまいました。

私の使っている油温計が１０から２０℃低く表示されることが分かりました。

(油温180度の時油温計は160度表示)

これは大きな収穫です。

油温計の誤差がわかったので次回は焦がさずに鶏天を作れそうです。

　鶏天をポン酢で初めて食べました。

めんつゆに酢を足してポン酢を作りました。

ポン酢に天然の果汁が入っていないと爽やかさがありませんね。

次回はカラマンシーの果汁を足します。

 I read Ishimaru Kenjiro's blog every day.

I'd seen Ishimaru, who is from Oita, post about chicken tempura several times on his blog.

It looked delicious, so I decided to make it.

The chicken tempura burned.

I discovered that the oil thermometer I use is reading 10 to 20°C lower than the actual temperature.

This is a big win.

Now that I understand the error of my oil thermometer, I think I'll be able to make chicken tempura without burning it next time.

 This was the first time I'd had chicken tempura with ponzu sauce.

I made ponzu sauce by adding vinegar to the noodle soup base.

Ponzu sauce lacks the refreshing taste it needs without natural fruit juice.

Next time, I'll add calamansi juice.

赤飯がうまく炊けたので煮物を作った。

　今回は小豆を一昼夜水に浸しました。

美味しい赤飯ができました。

せっかくなので高野豆腐・鶏肉・野菜で煮物を作りました。

出汁はいつもの方法でとりました。

もう前のようにたくさん食べることができません。

マンゴーを食べたあとの朝食はこれで充分です。

出汁にわかめをいれてすまし汁にしました。

カツオのいい匂いがしました、幸せな気分でした。

 This time, I soaked the red beans in water for a day and a night.

I made delicious red rice.

Since I had the chance, I made a stew with freeze-dried tofu, chicken, and vegetables.

I made the dashi stock in the usual way.

I can't eat as much as I used to.

This was enough for breakfast after eating the mango.

I added wakame seaweed to the dashi to make a clear soup.

It smelled delicious of bonito, and I felt happy.

歯医者さん。 Dentist.

　４月に桜を見に日本へ行きその時に歯の治療をしました。

抜歯が必要と言われて７月に予約しました。

７月に予約した歯医者に行くと　心臓は大丈夫か　合併症は無いかと　と質問され抜歯されませんでした。

抜歯のために日本へ行ったので納得できない歯医者の処置でした。

ここは親子２代で歯医者をしています。

その歯医者を選んだのは自分自身なので歯医者に文句は言いませんでした。

ただ約束を守らない歯医者に対して寂しい気持ちになりました。

そしてこの歯医者を利用するのをやめました。

 I went to Japan in April to see the cherry blossoms and had dental treatment there.

I was told that I needed a tooth extracted, so I made an appointment for July.

When I went to the dentist, I had made an appointment in July, and they asked me if my heart was okay and if there were any complications, but they didn't extract the tooth.

I was not happy with the dentist's treatment, as I had gone to Japan for a scheduled tooth extraction.

This dentist has been in business for two generations.

I was the one who chose this dentist, so I didn't complain to him.

However, I felt sad that the dentist didn't keep his promises.

So I stopped using this dentist.

　こちらのBQモールの中にある歯医者に今通っています。

そこで歯の掃除をした次の日に知覚過敏の処置をしてもらいました。

その翌日に言葉では誤解が生じるので文章をもって相談しました。

 I'm currently going to the dentist in the BQ Mall.
I had my teeth cleaned there, and the day after, I received treatment for sensitive teeth.
The next day, I consulted in writing because words can lead to misunderstandings.

　ものを食べると歯に挟まります。

糸で掃除できない箇所が１箇所あります。

その場所を充填できないでしょうか。

という内容の文書です。

　歯医者と話し合った結果当該箇所の冠歯を作り直すことにしました。

歯医者とそれが終わったら日本で抜歯できなかった歯の治療をすることを決めました。

　冠歯はいずれも２、３０年前にしたものです。

この機会にやり直すべきだと決めました。

健康保険証がないので自費治療になります。

嫌いな飛行機に乗って日本へ行きホテルに泊まり不便な思いをすることを事を考えると住まいから治療に通えるのはありがたいことです。

　今までに抜いた歯は２本だけです。

残った自分の歯を大切に使ってゆきたいとおもっています。

　１０年以上前にセブの日本企業担当の歯医者でありがたくない思いをしています。

歯の治療の結果は後日報告します。

 When I eat, food gets stuck in my teeth.

There is one spot that cannot be cleaned with floss.

Is it possible to fill that spot?

This is what the letter said.

After talking with my dentist, we decided to have a crown made in that spot.

Once that is done, I have also decided with the dentist to treat the teeth that could not be extracted in Japan.

All of the crowns were made 20 or 30 years ago.

I decided that this was the opportunity to redo them.

As I do not have health insurance, the treatment will be at my own expense.

Considering the inconvenience of getting on a plane to Japan, which I hate, and staying in a hotel, I am grateful to be able to receive treatment from home.

I have only had two teeth extracted so far.

I would like to cherish the remaining teeth.

I had an ungrateful experience with a dentist working for a Japanese company in Cebu over 10 years ago.

I will report on the results of my dental treatment at a later date.

診察室の中にクリスマスソングが流れていました。

それにあわせてハミングしながら私の歯型をとりました。

 This island dentist is cheerful.
