英語力がないのは悲しいですね・・・ Sadly, I'm not good at English...

　昨日今日と続けて二日間採血に行きました。

昨日は朝食を食べているからダメと断られました。

その時に採血の前日は午後１０時以降は物を食べないようにいわれました。

　昨夜は午後６時過ぎに夕食をとりました。

今日は前日の夕食後から時間が経ちすぎているからダメとまた断られました。

食後何時間なら検査を受けられるのか教えて下さいと頼みました。

イントネーションのおかしい日本人の検査技師も来て私の質問を聞いてくれました。

私は彼女たちの言っていることが理解できませんでした。

食後１０時間　と決まるまで３０分ほど時間がかかりました。

待っている人に　遅くなってごめんなさい　と謝ると　いいんですよ　と笑ってくれたのが救いでした。

英語力がないのは悲しいですね・・・

 I went to the hospital to have my blood drawn two days in a row, yesterday and today.
Yesterday, I was turned down because I had eaten breakfast.
The person in charge told me not to eat anything after 10 pm the day before the blood draw.
  I had supper at 6 pm last night.
Today, I was again turned down because too much time had passed since dinner the night before.
I asked them how many hours after eating I could take the test.
A Japanese technician with a strange intonation also came and listened to my question.

I couldn't understand what they were saying.

It took about 30 minutes for their answer to match - 10 hours after eating.

I apologised to those waiting, "I am sorry to keep you waiting." They laughed and said it was OK.

Those words and that smile were a lifesaver for me.

Sadly, I'm not good at English...

薬物治療。 medication.

 

　今服用している薬は今まで服用してきたものとは全く別種の薬だ。

悪心はするし胃がやられた。

夜間の睡眠を妨げる副作用もあるようだ。

３っ日前に引いた鼻風邪が長引いているのでよけい堪える。

　アレルギー症状の出ない快適な生活を送ってきた身にはとてもつらい。

今まで苦諦の生・老・病・死とは縁のない生活おくってきた。

今は　老・病　の辛さを実感している。

I'm feeling nauseous, and my stomach is upset.
It has a side effect: it keeps me from sleeping at night.
The cold I caught three days ago is lingering, which makes it even more unbearable.
This is very hard for me, as I've always lived a comfortable life without allergy symptoms.
Until now, I've lived a life free from
the noble truth of suffering 
 old age, sickness, and death.
Now I'm feeling the pain of old age and sickness.

　この日の銀行は混んでいました。

ATMは長蛇の列です。

銀行内のカウンターで下ろすことにしました。

年配者は優先的に他の人よりも先に呼ばれます。

私の前に登録した２人がいなかったので早く終わりました。

プライオリティ万歳です。

I decided to withdraw my money at the counter inside the bank.
Senior citizens are given Priority and are called before others.
The two people who had registered ahead of me were not there, so I was able to finish quickly.

病院の待ち時間。 Waiting time at the hospital.

　診察の待ち時間に周りは皆セルホンをいじっています。

私は読書用の眼鏡にかけかえるのが面倒なので椅子の上で上半身のストレッチをしました。

日本もこの国も診察の待ち時間が長い事は共通しています。

日本との違いはこの国の人の話し声の大きい事と子供の声の大きい事です。

病院のインフォーメーションの対応の違いは　声を潜めて深刻に話すのは日本　明るく笑みを浮かべて話すのはこの国です。

 While waiting to be seen, everyone around me was fiddling with their cell phones.
Since it's a hassle to change into my reading glasses, I stretched my upper body in my chair.
One thing Japan and this country have in common is long waiting times to be seen.
The difference in volume is that people and children here speak loudly.
The difference in the hospital information desk staff's attitude is that, in Japan, they speak in a hushed, serious voice, whereas here they speak brightly and with a smile.

言い古された言葉ですが月とすっぽんの違いがありました。

鉄の中華鍋。 An iron wok.

　食べる野菜の種類と量を増やしています。

コーティングしたフライパンで野菜を炒めるとベチャッとした感じになります。

鉄の中華鍋やフライパンで野菜を炒めるとシャキシャキします。

ラードを使って鉄鍋で野菜を炒めるとそれはもう町の中華屋の味です。

不思議だなあと思いながら今日も野菜炒めを作りました。

鉄鍋は最初の皮膜づくりが少し手間ですが作った被膜は長持ちします。

使うときに空焚きして鍋から煙が出たら油を入れて油返しをして油を変えてから料理をします。

鉄鍋は煮物が苦手なのでその時は別の鍋を使ってください。

 I'm increasing the variety and amount of vegetables I eat.
When I stir-fry vegetables in a coated frying pan, they end up soggy.
When I stir-fry vegetables in an iron wok or frying pan, they're crunchy.
When I stir-fry vegetables in an iron wok with lard, it tastes just like the food at a local Chinese restaurant.
I find this very strange.
With that in mind, I made stir-fried vegetables in an iron wok again today.

It takes a little time to create the coating on an iron pan by burning oil.

But the film runs long.
When I use it, I dry-heat it, and when smoke rises from the wok, I add oil to replenish it.
Then I change the oil before cooking.
Iron woks are not suitable for simmering food; use a different pot instead.
