今日まで知らずにベルトを逆に締めていた。 Until today, I had been wearing my belt backwards without knowing it.

　昨日までベルトの締め方を左右逆にして締めていました。

男はベルトの末尾が左で

女性はベルトの末尾が右だそうです。

　男は上着は左が前で

女性は上着が右前になっている事から来ているんですね。

　私は小学校から昨日までベルトの末尾が右に来る締め方をしていました。

親からも友人からもスーツを仕立てたときに洋服屋からも注意されませんでした。

いまベルトを締めるのはスラックスをはく時くらいです。

いやーものを識らないっていうのは恐ろしい事ですね。

そして恥ずかしい事でもあります。

Apparently, men wear their belt tails on the left and women wear their belt tails on the right.

 This comes from the fact that men wear their jackets with the left side in front and women wear their jackets with the right side in front.

 I had been wearing my belt with the tail on the right from elementary school until yesterday.

Neither my parents, friends, nor the tailor when I had my suit tailored ever told me anything about it.

Now I only wear my belt when I'm wearing slacks.

It's scary to be ignorant of things.

And it's also embarrassing.
