裾上げに三日もかかった It took three days to hem it.

　ジーンズの裾上げがやっと終わりました。

ジーンズを買った日に裾上げに行きましたが午後の一時半にならないと担当者が戻らないといわれました。

２時間は待てないので止めました。

月曜に行くと担当者は今日は休みだといわれました。

３回目の今日裾上げが終わりました。

　こちらでは日本の裾上げのように裾をピンで留めません。

はいているスラックスをメジャーで計って裾上げする場所を決めます。

ところ変われば品変わるのサンプルですね。

 I finally finished hemming my jeans.

I bought some of the jeans and went to get them hemmed that day.

The clerk told me the seamstress would be back at 1:30 in the afternoon.

I couldn't wait two hours, so I decided not to.

When I went back on Monday, she told me that the seamstress was off today.

I finished hemming for the third time today.

　カーテンに白い光が差し始めるころ鶏よりも先になく鳥がいます。

パーラポーンポーンと明るい声でしばらく鳴き続けます。

知らない鳥が鳴き続けている間に鶏がお義理のように鳴きます。

こちらの鶏は昼間の変な時間や夜に鳴くので朝告げ鳥（ときつげどり）ではありません。

パーラポーンポーンと明るい声で鳴く鳥の姿を見たいんですが見たことがありません。

羽根の色も姿かたちも不明です。

　小夜なき鳥のナイチンゲールはとてもきれいな声で鳴くそうです。

鳴き声を聞きたいんですがここに住んでいないのが残念です。

西洋鶯の別名があるので寒冷な気候を好むのでしょうね。

　モールに買い物に行ってお腹がすきました。

メニューの写真を指でさしてこれはミートパイですかと聞きました。

お腹にやさしいミートパイを頼みました。

頼み方が悪かったのでしょう、ホットチーズハンバーグサンドが来ました。

ホットチーズハンバーグサンドを少しづつよく噛んで一切れを食べ終えました。

残りの一切れとフレンチフライに未練が残りましたが終わりにしました。

久しぶりに脂っけのあるものを食べました。

　こちらの２月は最低気温が２５℃位です。

暖かく真冬という気が全くしません。

　息を吸うと鼻毛が凍る日本の山の寒さを想像しようもありません。

体力の有り余っていたころは誕生日にはほとんど山に入っていました。

冬用のテントを張って何日も暮らしました。

今はその事を懐かしく思い出すだけです。
