パウンドケーキ。 The pound cake.

　パウンドケーキを焼くと後から入れたレーズンが下に沈んでしまうので困っていた。

今回材料の量を調節してレーズンが沈まなくなった。

たったこれだけのことだが嬉しいものだ。

今回はケーキにレモンチェロをたらして食べました。

今回の飲み物はコーヒーでした。

次回は紅茶にするつもりです。

 I was having trouble with the raisins that I added after baking a pound cake because they would sink to the bottom.

This time I adjusted the amounts of ingredients, and the raisins no longer sink.

It's a simple thing, but it makes me very happy.

This time, I drizzled limoncello on the cake.

I had coffee this time.

Next time I'm going to have tea.

コーヒー豆。Coffee beans

　コーヒー豆の袋入りがなくなりました。

歯の治療で日本に帰るので今飲んでいるキリマンジャロとモカマタリ・コロンビアのスプレモを買うつもりです。

　桜の時期の帰国で自分の耐寒性のなさを思い知らされました。

サクラを見に行った４月にキリマンジャロを1ｋｇ買いました。

２ヶ月で1ｋｇのコーヒー豆を消費していることになります。

3ｋｇのコーヒー豆を使い切るのは６ヶ月です。

６か月後の日本は厳寒です。

　国際便・航空便で日本からここに送ってもらうと届くまでに１か月か１か月半かかります。

日本から送った荷物はマニラへ１日か２日で着きます。

荷物がマニラを出るのが１週間か２週間後です。

その後どういうコースを通るのか解りませんが２、３週間後にタグビラランに着きます。

おそらく船便を使っているのでしょう。

　日本から　食べ物を送ってあげる　という友人が何人かいました。

日本の宅急便やクール宅急便を基準にしているので遅延を説明して止めてもらうのが大変でした。

日本の物差しで計るととんでもないことになります。

 I've run out of bags of coffee beans.

I'm going back to Japan for dental treatment, so I'm planning to buy the Kilimanjaro I'm drinking now and Mocha Matari Colombia Supremo.

 Returning to Japan during cherry blossom season made me realize how poor my tolerance for cold weather is.

I bought 1kg of Kilimanjaro in April when I went to see the cherry blossoms.

That means I'll have consumed 1kg of coffee beans in two months.

It will take six months to use up 3 kilograms of coffee beans.

It will be bitterly cold in Japan six months from now.

If you send something here from Japan by international or air mail, it will take one to one and a half months to arrive.

Packages sent from Japan arrive in Manila in one or two days.

It takes one or two weeks for the package to leave Manila.

I don't know what route it takes after that, but it arrives in Tagbilaran two or three weeks later.

They probably use sea mail.

 I had a few friends who said they would send me food from Japan.

They use Japan's Takkyubin and Cool Takkyubin as standards, so it was difficult to explain the delay and get them to stop.

You can't measure logistics in this country by Japanese standards.

きのうはいい天気でしたが停電でした。 Yesterday was nice weather, but there was a power outage.

電気が使えないと加熱・解凍が出来ません。

フレンチトーストをフライパンで焼いてコーヒー豆を手で挽いて朝飯にしました。

シャワーを浴びて汗をながしてから買い物に行きたいんですが加圧式の水道なので使えません。

停電の時は水が重力で落ちる高置水槽が羨ましいですね。

午後６時過ぎに復電したのでシャワーを浴びてさっぱりしました。

Yesterday was nice weather, but there was a power outage.

I made French toast in a frying pan and ground coffee beans by hand for breakfast.

I'd like to take a shower to wash off the sweat before going shopping, but the water supply is pressurized, so I am unable to use it.

I'm envious of people who have elevated water tanks where water falls under gravity during a power outage.

The power was restored just after 6pm, so I took a shower and freshened up.

　6/21・土曜は停電がありました。

朝から始まり復電は午後６時過ぎでした。

上の連絡しか見ていなかったので今日はパングラオ島で電気工事とそれに伴う停電があるものと思い込んでいました。

 There was a power outage on Saturday, June 21st.

It started in the morning, and power was restored by 6 pm.

I had only seen the above notice, so I assumed that there would be electrical work and resulting power outages on Panglao Island today.

　復電後にPCを検索すると上記の連絡がありました。

次回から２社の案内を確認することにします。

　ボホールトロピックスのそばに住んでいた時には高置水槽を使っていたので停電になっても水道を使えなくなることがありませんでした。

停電時には身体を洗ってから買い物・映画・食事で時間をつぶして家に戻りました。

停電の日時に関心を持つ必要が無かったのです。

　ウブハンに来てからは加圧式の水道を使っているので停電すると水道が使えなくなるので停電の日時はチェックしていました。

これからはそれぞれの電気工事会社の予定をチェックするようにします。

 After power was restored, I searched my computer and found the above notice.

Next time, I will check the information from both companies.

 When I lived near Bohol Tropics, I used an elevated water tank, so I never lost my water even during a power outage.

When there was a power outage, I would wash myself and then spend my time shopping, going to the movies, and eating before returning home.

There was no need to be concerned about the date and time of the power outage.

 Since coming to Ubuhan, I have been using a pressurized water supply, so I kept checking the date and time of power outages because when there is a power outage, I cannot use the water.

From now on, I will make sure to check the schedules of each electrical work company.

巻き爪。 ingrown toenails.

　髪と爪を切りに出かけようとする度に２回スコールが来ました。

久しぶりに自分で爪を切りました。

爪を切るのは難しいですね。

巻き爪なので足の指の爪を切るのは大変です。

日本の家庭用品は高品質ですね。

ここに来てから１７年経ちましたが錆び一つなく切れ味がおちていません。

 There have been two rainstorms every time I've tried to go out to get my hair and nails cut.

Cutting nails is hard.

I have ingrown toenails, so it's hard to cut my toenails.

Japanese household products are so high quality.

訂正と報告。 Corrections and reports.

　先日ベッドの乾燥の報告をしましたが思慮が足りなかったようです。

一番下の重いスプリング式のマットレスの乾燥を考えてクッションと掛布団と別々に乾燥することにしました。

もともと寝つきは悪くないのですがさらに寝つきが良くなりました。

　映画の　幸せの黄色いハンカチ　で出所した健さんが宿泊した旅館のシーツにほおずりするシーンがあります。

ほおずりはしませんが乾いたベッドに横になるのは気持ちの良いものです。

乾燥したさらさらしたシ－ツと乾いたクッションの上に横になると上質な気持ちを味わえます。

ホテルの飾った湿ったベッドは敬遠したくなります。

　やっとのどの痛みがなくなりました。

薄い掛布団をやめてダブルのベッドカバーで寝ることにしました。

平熱で薄い掛布団を使うと暑いんです。

朝起きると薄い掛布団は足の下で丸まっています。

声には出しませんが心の中で　やった　やったぞ　と叫んでいます。

急にダイビングに行きたくなりました。

 The other day, I reported on drying my bed, but I wasn't thoughtful enough.

I decided to dry out the heavy spring mattress, cushions, and thin comforter separately.

I never had trouble falling asleep to begin with, but now I fall asleep even better.

 In the movie Yellow Handkerchief of Happiness, there is a scene where the actor Ken Takakura, who has been released from prison, rubs his cheek against the sheets of the inn he is staying at.

I don't rub my cheek, but it feels good to lie down on a dry bed.

There's something so good about lying on dry sheets and dry cushions. 

I steer clear of those fancy, damp hotel beds.

 My sore throat has finally gone away.

I decided to stop using the thin comforter and sleep on a double bedspread.

It's hot when I use it when my temperature is normal.

When I wake up in the morning, it's curled up under my feet.

I don't say it out loud, but in my head I'm screaming, "I did it, I did it!"

I suddenly have the urge to go diving.

強い日差しが差してきた。 The sun is shining brightly.

　スコールが２回来た後強い日差しが差してきました。

さあ、買い物にでも行くか　と思っています。

午後２時の気温は２８℃です。

歌はビーチボーズのサーファーガールです。

 After two rainstorms, the sun is shining brightly.
