着信履歴。Call history.

　先日携帯を家に置き忘れて外出しました。

翌日に携帯の着信履歴を見るとセブの領事館から着信がありました。

こちらからかけ直し要件を訊ねました。

在留予定期間の問題でした。

在留予定期間が２０２４年になっていたのでその確認電話でした。

５年間の延長をお願いして了承を得ました。

めでたし々・・・

 The other day, I left my cell phone at home and went out.

When I checked my cell phone's call history the next day, I saw that it was from the consulate in Cebu.

I called back to ask about the requirements.

It was a question about my intended period of stay.

My intended period of stay was set at 2024, so they were calling to confirm that.

I asked for a five-year extension, which was approved.

All's well that ends.

散歩の後でダイビング。I went diving after a walk.

  台風の影響でゲストさんの到着が遅れたため、出発時間が変更になりました。

その時間を利用して散歩に出かけました。

台風の影響は収まり、海は予想以上に穏やかでした。

2本目のダイビングで足がつってしまいました。
煽り足をしたら治りました。
その夜寝た後、また足がつってしまいました。

念入りに準備したつもりが、裏目に出てしまいました。

 Our departure time was changed because our guests were delayed due to the typhoon.
I used that time to go for a walk.

 The sea was calmer than we expected, with the effects of the typhoon having subsided.
I got a cramp in my leg on the second dive.
It went away after I used a scissors kick.
After I went to sleep that night, I got another cramp in my leg.
I thought I had prepared carefully, but my efforts backfired.

木耳。 Wood ear mushroom.

　戻した乾燥キクラゲを食べる前に加熱しなければいけないことを知りませんでした。

それを知らずに柚子味噌などをつけて食べていました。

きくらげを湯通しするとぷるぷるして食感が良くなりました。

安全のためにも食感のためにも加熱は必要なんですね。

 I didn't know that dried wood ear mushrooms that have been soaked in water need to be heated before eating.
Without knowing this, I used to eat them with yuzu miso and other dipping sauces.
When I boiled the wood ear mushrooms, they became bouncy and had a better texture.
So heating is necessary for both safety and texture.

リタイアメントビサの延長。Extension of retirement visa.

　タグビララン港のお店におにぎりの写真がありました。

日本語の表示はありません。

理由は明快です。

日本人の観光客が少ないからです。

 There was a photo of onigiri at a shop in Tagbilaran Port.
There was no Japanese text displayed.
The reason is clear.
Because there are few Japanese tourists.

　セブへ向かう船内は空いていました。

There were a lot of empty seats on the ship heading to Cebu.

　セブ港は本降りでした。

白タクを１００ペソ値切ってPRA・リタイアメント事務局に行きました。

書類に記入して２年間延長して自宅への郵送を依頼しました。

担当者は　１０月には郵送されるだろう　と言っていました。

日本食品はいつも行く店で買いました。

 It was pouring rain at Cebu Port.
I paid a 100-peso discount on an unlicensed taxi and went to the PRA Retirement Office.
I filled out some paperwork, extended it for two years, and requested that it be mailed to my home.
The person in charge said it would arrive in October.
I bought Japanese food at my usual store.

日本で買い物をするたびに思った事。 Something I keep thinking about every time I go shopping in Japan.

ここ数年それが顕著になりました。

嗜好品が極端に少なくなりました。

たたみいわし、くさや等がまちのスーパーから姿を消しました。

わざわざデパート迄買いに行かなければいけないようになりました。

　ここに来た１８年前はアロナビーチには日本語が溢れていました。

今アロナビーチに日本語はありません。

やはりこの事が大きな要因と思います。

 There's something I've thought every time I go shopping in Japan.
This has become even more noticeable in the last few years.
Articles of taste have become extremely scarce.
Items like dried sardines and kusaya have disappeared from local supermarkets.
Now I have to go all the way to the department store to buy them.

 When I came here 18 years ago, Alona Beach was full of Japanese words.
Now there's no Japanese to be found in Alona Beach.
I think this is a major factor.

　日本の賃金は下がり続けています。

これは構造を変えない限り今後も下がりつづけるでしょう。

　反対に税・社会保険料は上がり続けています。

諸外国の多くでこの国民負担率であれば大学まで授業料の支払い免除で医療費は無料です。

日本で子供の出生率が下がるのは当然のことです。

 Wages in Japan continue to fall.
This will likely continue to fall unless the structure is changed.
On the other hand, taxes and social insurance premiums continue to rise.
In many other countries, with this national burden rate, tuition fees are exempt up to university, and medical expenses are free.
It is only natural that the birth rate in Japan is declining.

　そして租税の支出の透明性は９４位です。

この数値は今後も下がり続けるでしょう。

And in tax spending transparency, Japan ranks 94th.
This figure will continue to fall.

　それは報道の自由度が下がり続けているからです。

新法の施行でさらに下がるでしょう。

 This is because freedom of the press continues to decline.

涼しい朝です、　七時の気温は２６℃です。

台風２０号は北西に移動しながら海南島に向かっています。

洗濯物は風で吹き寄せられました。

歌はロイオービソンのラナです。

ドアロック。 Door lock.

　先日の強風でストックルームのドアが閉まり内側からロックされてしまいました。

ドアを開けるのに大変な思いをしました。

それに懲りてロックする可能性のあるドアの錠前を３箇所付け替えました。

鍵はドアノブに結束バンドで固定しました。

いやあ、ドアを開けるのは本当に大変だったんです。

ドアが開くまで３時間かかりました。

　シャワールームの錠は鍵無しです。

錠がロックしても鍵穴を回せば解錠できます。

こういう錠もあるんですね。

 The other day, strong winds caused the stockroom door to slam shut and lock from the inside.
It was a struggle to get the door open.
Having learned my lesson, I replaced the locks on three doors that might lock.
I secured the key to the doorknob with a cable tie.
Wow, it was really hard to open the door.
It took me three hours to finally get it open.

 The shower room lock is keyless.
Even if the lock is locked, you can unlock it by turning the keyhole.
I didn't know there were locks like this.
