　ベランダの出入り口につけていたカーテンを外しました。

風でカーテンが揺れると雀が怯えて餌にも水浴び用の皿にも近づきません。

　３日ほど様子を見ていました。

雀たちは庭のよく葉の茂った木でジュクジュク鳴いてベランダに近寄りません。

カーテンを外してしばらくすると偵察の雀が餌を食べました。

しばらくすると木から雀が次々にベランダに飛んできました。

　気温が上がると羽を膨らませた雀が水浴びの皿で水浴びを始めました。

胸の羽を水面につけて羽を動かし勢いよく皿の水を弾き飛ばします。

長く水浴びをする雀も入れば、さっと水浴びをして羽繕いを始める雀もいます。

日向で羽を乾かした雀がまた水浴びに飛んできます。

羽を膨らませてまんまるになった雀の顔は可愛いですよ。

The wind swaying the curtain frightened the sparrows, and they wouldn't go near the food or the bathing dish.

 I observed them for about three days.
The sparrows were chirping in the leafy trees in the garden, not approaching the balcony.
Shortly after I took down the curtain, a scouting sparrow ate the food.
After a while, other sparrows began flying from the trees onto the balcony one after another.

 As the temperature rose, the sparrows, with their feathers puffed up, began bathing in the bathing dish.
They dipped their chest feathers into the water and vigorously splashed the water out of the dish.
Some sparrows bathed for a long time, while others took a quick dip and began preening.
Sparrows that dried their feathers in the sun flew back in for another bath.
Their faces, round and puffed up with their feathers, are adorable.
