雰囲気が変わりました。 The atmosphere has changed.

　仕立て屋さんに頼んだ新しいカーテンをつけました。

カーテンの色は今迄使っていた薄青から白色の風をとおす紗になりました。

４枚作ったので交換しながら使ってゆきます。

新しいカーテンで室内の雰囲気ががらりと変わりました。

　外から部屋の中を見ると光の当たるところだけ見えて光の当たらない場所は蔭になって見えません。

紗のカーテンがあるだけで外から見る室内の様子は変わります。

ソファに座っているとカーテンの外から室内を覗いている人が見えます。

室外からはソファの周りは蔭になって見えません。

光のマジックです。

　こちらのクリーニング屋さんは薄物を袋に入れて洗いません。

前に使っていたカーテンはクリーニングに出したせいでカーテンを通す金具の部分の布がほつれて酷いことになりました。

それ以来自分で洗っています。

自分で洗うとすすぎ洗いもきちんと３回するので布にシミやくすみが残りません。

　今の仕立て屋さんは前の仕立て屋さんと比べると裁縫は丁寧で仕立て上がりの期限も守ってくれます。

ウインドブレーカーの手首のゴムが伸び切って縮まなくなったので修理をお願いしています。

I made four curtains, so I'll be changing them sometimes.

The new curtains have completely changed the atmosphere of the room.

Just having gauze curtains changes the way the room looks from the outside.

Sitting on the sofa, I can see people looking into the room through the curtains.

 Here dry cleaner doesn't wash thin items in bags.

The curtains I used before were cleaned, and the fabric around the metal fittings that hold the curtains frayed and it got pretty bad.

Since then, I've been washing them myself.

When I wash them myself, I rinse them three times properly, so there are no stains or dullness left on the fabric.

 Compared to my previous tailor, my current tailor is more careful with his sewing and keeps to the deadline for finishing the clothes.

The elastic band around the wrist of my windbreaker has stretched out so much that it no longer shrinks, so I've asked them to repair it.

　食休みをしていますか。

私は40分前後の食休みをとっています。

胃に消化のために血液が集まるんでしょうね。

脳に血液が行かないようで心地よい睡魔が襲ってきます。

眠らないようにしているんですがうとうとします。

モスキートキラーのパンッという音で目が覚める事が度々あります。

目が覚めたら３時間たっていたことが何回かありました。

夜眠れないわけではありません。

９時前後に就寝しています。

　空腹のときには餌をさがす、動物を狩るという原始の生存本能が働くので緊張して眠くならないそうです。

満腹で血液に栄養が回ると生存本能が働かなくなり眠くなるようです。

人間は今でも原始の食物摂取の生存本能に支配されているんですね。

食物摂取は人間が生きてゆくうえで欠かせませんからね。

I try not to fall asleep, but I find myself dozing off.

When you're full and nutrients are circulating in your blood, your survival instinct stops and you get sleepy.

Humans are still controlled by the primitive survival instinct to eat.

Eating food is essential for humans to live.

給水の時間帯が変わったようだ。

夜中の給水に加えて昼間に給水されているようだ。

誠に喜ばしい事だ。

　前は夕方になると貯水槽に1/4位しか水が残っていなかった。

すすぎ洗いも３回している。

雨季だけの給水なのだろうか。

乾季になっても続いてほしいものだ。

コーヒー豆。 The coffee beans.

　いつも行くカフェのTUKOでコーヒー豆をわけてもらいました。

アラビカ種のコーヒー豆のようです。

　コーヒーミルで豆を細かく挽くと苦みが強くなります。

ペーパードリップ用の普通の粗さで挽いています。

　日本から買ってくるキリマンジャロと違いこの豆には酸味がありません。

でもスーパーで売っている欧米のブレンドしたコーヒー豆よりはこちらの豆のほうがおいしいと思います。

あちらの豆はローストが強すぎるのでアイスコーヒーやミルクをたっぷり使うカフェオレやカフェラテに向いているようです。

　寄る年波には勝てません。

前のように空腹でコーヒーを飲むとお腹にこたえます。

最近は乳糖不耐のミルクも使うようになりました。

お腹をこわすと大変です。

お腹には少しでも楽をしてもらわないといけないと思って労わっています。

　今迄は身体は動かすもの、無理をしても使うものと思ってきました。

誕生日を迎えて自分自身の身体を労わろうという気持ちが湧いてきました。

これは優しい感情の芽生えでしょうか。

それとも単に老化に対する対応でしょうか。

 I bought some coffee beans from TUKO, the café I always visit. They are Arabica beans.

When I grind the beans finely in a coffee mill, they become very bitter. 

I grind them to a medium coarseness for paper drip coffee.

The Kilimanjaro beans I bought from Japan have an acidic taste. 

These beans have no acidity, but I think they’re tastier than the Western blended coffee beans sold at supermarkets. 

The beans from there are roasted too darkly, making them better suited for iced coffee, café au lait, or café latte, which use a lot of milk.

I can't beat the effects of aging. 

If I drink coffee on an empty stomach like I used to, it hurts my stomach. 

I've recently started using lactose-free milk. 

It's awful when I get an upset stomach, so I try to take care of it, knowing I need to make it as easy as possible.

Until now, I viewed the body as something to move and use, even when it felt too hard.

 As my birthday approaches, I've begun to feel the need to take better care of my body. 

Is this the birth of a kinder emotion? 

Or is it simply a response to aging?

硼酸。Boric Acid.

　硼酸を取り寄せてもらったので取りに行ってきました。

もちろん丁寧にお礼を言いました。

　硼酸は容器に500ｇ入っています。

これだけあれば２，３年は蟻退治が出来ます。

　蟻は体内で硼酸を分解できないので食べると死にます。

白砂糖と硼酸を爪楊枝でよく混ぜて３か所に置きました。

蟻が硼酸入りの砂糖を巣に運んでくれると女王蟻はそれを液化して蟻に与えます。

その場合は巣ごと蟻は絶滅します。

硼酸の遅効性の毒性を利用した上手な蟻の駆除法です。

　稀に硼酸入りの砂糖を嫌う蟻の種類があります。

その時は重曹に砂糖を混ぜたものを使います。

重曹が蟻の体内の蟻酸と反応して蟻は死ぬことになります。

　大きな蟻を駆除すると次に小さな蟻が現れます。

小さな蟻は台所の近くに巣を作るので誠に厄介な存在です。

彼らはどこにでも巣を作るので本当に厄介です。

　スペアの赤いヘルメットの蜘蛛の巣をはらい内側をアルコール消毒しました。

ヘェイスカバーよく洗って乾かしています。

明日からは赤いヘルメットをかぶります。

ブリキとトタン。 tin plate and zinc plate.

　前の住まいは家が密集していた。

そしてトタン屋根の家が圧倒的に多かった。

雨が降り出すと遠くから　タンタンタンタン　と雨がトタン屋根をうつ威勢のいい音が聞こえてきた。

　トタン屋根というがトタンの玩具とは言わない。

同様にブリキの玩具というがブリキの屋根とは言わない。

トタンとブリキは何が同違うのだろうか。

　トタンは鉄材が厚くブリキは薄いようだ。

トタンは亜鉛メッキでブリキは錫がメッキしてあるようだ。

　トタン板の亜鉛メッキは傷がつくと水に鉄より先に亜鉛がイオン化して溶け出すので鉄が錆びにくいようだ。

湿った空気や炭酸ガスで亜鉛メッキの表面に塩基性炭酸亜鉛の薄い皮膜を作る。

それが水、酸素、腐食性物質が金属表面に到達するのを防ぐする働きをする。

なるほど、納得した、トタンを屋根に使うわけが解った。

　錫メッキのブリキ板は薄いので形を加工しやすいようだ。錫は銀白色の金属でやわらかく展性がるので加工に向いているようだ。

そして空気中で安定しており、比較的さびにくい金属のようだ。

また錫は毒性が単体では低いので食器類，アルミ箔に使われているようだ。

なるほど、納得した、玩具にブリキを使うわけが解った。

　物はその用途に合った使い分けがされているんですね。

カラマンシーの絞り器。A calamansi squeezer.

　カラマンシーの絞り器を売っていたので２っ買いました。

これで絞ると種が果汁に混ざりません。

　絞り器は果汁を絞る点では指にかないません。

２っに割ったカラマンシーを指で絞ると無駄なく楽にすぐ絞れます。

ポン酢を作るときに使うカラマンシーの果汁を使っています。

果汁に混ざった種は金網で漉せばよい事も分かりました。

　この絞り器を何に転用しようか考えました。

今のところ客用に転用するしかありません。

これも回転式のチーズカッターと同じ運命を辿る事になるのでしょうか。

　

　ニンニクの絞り器は別にあります。

生姜の汁もニンニクの絞り器で絞っています。

　まあそのうちに使い道が見つかるさと楽観しています。

この命　何をあくせく　明日をのみ　思い煩う　です。

 I bought two calamansi squeezers.

When I squeeze with them, the seeds don't get mixed in with the juice.

A juicer can't compare to my fingers when squeezing juice.

When I squeeze a calamansi half with my fingers, I can squeeze it quickly and easily with no waste.

I use the calamansi juice to make ponzu sauce.

I also found that I could strain the seeds mixed in with the juice through a sieve.

I have been thinking about what I could repurpose these juicers for.

For now, I have no choice but to repurpose them for use by guests.

I wonder if this will meet the same fate as the rotating cheese cutter.

I have another garlic press.

I also use the garlic press to squeeze ginger juice.

I'm optimistic that I'll find a use for it eventually.

This is my life, why worry about tomorrow?

居住証明書・生存証明が必要な時期になりました。 It's time to get a certificate of residence and proof of life.

　今年もまた年金の居住証明書を日本の年金機構に送る時期になりました。

毎年々同じ事務処理を繰り返しています。

国民の申告等事務処理は簡単に電子化して進めるのが本筋です。

手作業の事務処理は立派な既得権なので所轄官庁はこれを手放しません。

　

　昨年はタグビララン市の発行した居住証明書が認められずにセブ島の日本領事館に居住証明書をとりに行きました。

今年も１度目はタグビララン市の発行した居住証明書を使います。

年金機構が日本領事館の居住証明書しか認めないのであれば仕方がないのでセブ島の日本領事館に行きます。

　年金機構は同じ事務手続きを１７年間繰り返しています。

これは日本の衰退を象徴しています。

If the Pension Service only accepts the residence certificate issued by the Japanese Consulate, I have no choice but to go to the Japanese Consulate in Cebu.

 The Pension Service has been repeating the same paperwork for 17 years.

This symbolizes the decline of Japan.

免許証の住所変更。Changed the address on my driver's license.

　気になっていた免許証の住所変更をしました。

　居住証明書をとるのに時間がかかりました。

こちらは証明にサインを使います。

担当部署の責任者が外出していたのでサインがもらえなかった事が原因です。

　代書屋さんで免許証の住所変更の書類を作ってもらいました。

父母の氏名の記入欄があり驚きました。

　免許証関係の役所へ行き何点か質問を受けました。

指紋照合・サインの照合・写真撮影後しばらくして新しい免許証を受け取りました。

１０年前は免許証を作る機械が故障して免許証を受け取るのに何か月もかかったのが嘘のようです。

　買い物をして帰ると午後６時でした。

少し疲れました。

　笑い話が二つあります。

一つは居住証明書をとるときに　花柄のサンダルを履いた化粧をした男性　から　あんた好みよ　と言われた事です。

もう一つは代書屋のコピー屋のおばさんに　あんた好みよ　と言われた事です。

どちらにも返事のしようがないので聞こえないふりをしてやり過ごしました。

This requires a signature as proof.

The reason is that the department's head was out of town, and I could not get his signature.

 I had the document prepared by a scrivener.

 It was 6pm when I got home after shopping.

I was a little tired.

 I have two funny stories.

One is when I was getting my certificate of residence, and a made-up man wearing floral sandals told me, "You're my type."

The other is when the lady working at the copy shop at the scrivener's office told me, "You're my type."

Since I had no way to respond to either of them, I just pretended not to hear them and let it go.
