木になりっぱなしのパパイヤ

　住まいの敷地の中にパパイヤの木が何本もあります。

コロナで亡くなったドイツ人の家主はパパイヤが好きでパパイヤが大きくなると鳥につつかれないように果実に袋をかけていました。

いまパパイヤに袋をかける人はいません。

パパイヤの実もなりっぱなしです。

陽に透けるパパイヤの葉と大きくなった果実を見ているうちに悲しくなりました。

 There are several papaya trees on the property where I live.

Our German landlord, who passed away from COVID-19, loved papayas.

When the papayas grew big, he would cover the fruit with bags to keep the birds from pecking at them.

Now there is no one to cover the papayas with bags.

The papayas are still bearing fruit.

I felt sad when I saw the papaya leaves shining in the sunlight and the big fruits.
